Alberta Sets iGaming Launch Date for July 13

Alberta’s upcoming regulated market is set to go live July 13, following a letter addressed to stakeholders from Dale Nally, Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction.

The letter was also co-signed by the Chair of the province’s gambling regulator, the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), Larry Spagnolo, and interim Chief Executive of the iGaming regulator Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC), Dan Keene.

“The launch of a regulated iGaming market is an exciting chapter for our province, and I am confident that we can work together to build a market that is both competitive and socially responsible,” Nally wrote and reported by Canadian Gaming Business.

Since March 31, the AGLC has also updated its website to inform operators of the new launch date.

Alberta’s regulated market was approved after the passage of Bill 48 in May of last year, and in January, regulators introduced an updated framework that included the creation of the AiGC and outlined licensing requirements for operators.

Since then, many operators have expressed interest in joining the new market, including Caesars Entertainment and BetRivers.

Gaming Corps Partners with Betty in Ontario

Online casino games developer Gaming Corps has announced a partnership with Ontario operator Betty, expanding its presence in the region.

Under the deal, Gaming Corps will provide Betty with a selection of games, bringing its total of games supplied in the province to over 2,800. On Betty’s platform, users will be able to access new slot titles, including 3 Easter Pigs, a new addition to Gaming Corps’ 3 Pigs franchise, and Vendetta Fury, developed by the company’s studio partner DEGEN Studios.

According to Gaming Corps, the launch of 3 Easter Pigs builds on the existing games in the series, such as 3 Pigs of Olympus and 3 Pigs of the Caribbean. As well, it sits among the studio’s broader offerings of slot, plinko, mine, crash, and table games.

“Ontario has become one of the most exciting regulated markets in North America, and Betty has built an impressive reputation by offering players both quality and variety. We’re delighted to partner with such a progressive operator and look forward to showcasing how our latest content can bring something genuinely different to their already rich portfolio,” said Adam Pentecost, CRO at Gaming Corps.

Peter & Sons Strengthens Ontario Presence with Ellipse Entertainment Deal

Online gaming studio Peter & Sons has strengthened its presence in the Ontario-regulated market after partnering with online operator Ellipse Entertainment.

Ellipse Entertainment is the owner of the online casino platform HighFlyerCasino.com. Under the partnership, Peter & Sons will supply the platform with its gaming portfolio, providing Canadian players access to its titles.

According to Peter & Sons, its agreement with Ellipse Entertainment ensures its commitment to delivering high-class games to regulated markets. The studio adds that it looks forward to building a successful relationship with the operator in the province.

“We are delighted to launch our portfolio with Ellipse Entertainment and bring our games to players in Ontario. The region has quickly established itself as a key regulated market in North America, and HighFlyerCasino.com provides a strong platform for introducing our distinctive titles to Canadian audiences,” said Yann Bautista, Founder and Commercial Director of Ellipse Entertainment.
