Ontario Casino Holds Grand Opening for New Restaurant

Casino Rama has announced that a new restaurant had its grand opening earlier this week, after opening only on weekends since October.

St. Germain’s, a steak and seafood restaurant named after the late Rama First Nation Chief George St. Germain, will be renamed Atlas Steak and Fish at St. Germain’s.

Director of Public Relations for Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, Tanya Gabara, said, “It is our signature steak and seafood restaurant that we have out West. This will be the first Ontario location, which is really exciting for us. It’s our spin on the traditional North American steakhouse.”

The opening of the restaurant will create more jobs at the casino, both in back-of-house and front-of-house positions, within its 6,000 square-foot space, which seats 181 guests.

The restaurant will feature live-fire cooking over natural charcoal and serve rotating cuts of beef to diners, accompanied by a live pianist on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, as well as every night in December.

Minister McNally Faces Recall Petition, Which May Cause iGaming Introduction Disruption

Alberta Minister Dale McNally, who is currently in charge of launching the open online gambling sector, is facing a recall petition from constituents.

The call, as reported by CBC, is believed to be a result of citizens being upset that the Conservatives invoked a clause in October, forcing teachers who were on strike to return to work. Another reason may be due to people being unhappy that their Minister is not “responsive to community concerns or aren’t engaging with their constituents.”

Signatures can now be collected in 14 districts, and any district that gains enough signatures in the next three months will be able to hold a vote to decide whether their ministers can retain their seats.

As the Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, Nally is currently in charge of introducing Alberta’s online gambling market, which is due to launch in early 2026.

In a statement, Nally said he believes the person who filed the position is acting on behalf of an activist group that wishes to call an early election.

If all nine Conservative Party Ministers face recall, it could impact the regulated sports betting and iGaming industry, which is expected to attract operators from Ontario to Alberta.

Canada’s First Prediction Market Announces Launch

TRUEiGTECH has announced it will be launching Canada’s first prediction market platform. Users will be able to trade event contracts on the platform across a variety of topics, including economics, politics, and sports.

The platform is said to be built in compliance with regulatory standards across the country and provinces, and beat other prediction market platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket to launch after authorities were reluctant to do so.

Co-Founder of TRUEiGTECH, Prish Kumar, said, “Canada’s provincial model of regulating gambling platforms left prediction markets without a clear operational lane. We built this platform specifically for Canada’s expectations of transparency, consumer protection, and integrity. Event-driven forecasting is a growing global segment, and Canadians deserve a responsible, compliance-aligned infrastructure to participate in meaningful discussions about national and global events.”

TRUEiGTECH is reportedly collaborating with cross-provincial governance, regulatory advisors, and compliance specialists to ensure the platform complies with Canadian regulations and has plans for ongoing development of prediction market regulation in Canada.
